Privacy Policy
How this game handles data — written plainly, because there is little of it to explain.
Zero Error: Permadeath does not ask you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. Your game progress is stored on your own device. Data leaves your device only for these reasons: what the advertising and payment services need in order to work, anonymous gameplay statistics, and — if you choose to sign in — your best score on the online leaderboard.
The game sends anonymous gameplay statistics, and a few services built into the app collect limited data:
| Data | Collected by | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID | Google AdMob | To serve ads and limit how often the same ad is shown |
| Device info | Google AdMob | Device model, OS version, and coarse region, so ads render correctly |
| Purchase record | Google Play Billing / Apple App Store | To confirm a heart pack purchase and deliver it to your game |
| Gameplay statistics | The developer, via Google Analytics | A random ID created on your device, the stage you reached, time spent in a stage, how a run ended, platform, language and app version. Used only to see which stages are too hard or too easy. No name, email, advertising ID or location is sent. |
| Leaderboard score | Apple Game Center / Google Play Games | Only if you sign in: your best score and the stage reached are shown on the public leaderboard under your Game Center or Play Games name. |
Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store. The game never sees, receives, or stores your card number or billing information.
Your stage progress, star balance, revive hearts and run history are saved in the app's own storage on your device. They are not uploaded and are not visible to the developer. Uninstalling the game deletes them. The only exceptions are the anonymous statistics and, if you sign in, the leaderboard score described above.
The game shows rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for in-game rewards, and occasional interstitial ads between runs. These are served by Google AdMob.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time from your device settings, under Settings → Google → Ads on Android, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS. Doing so limits ad personalisation without affecting the game.
AdMob's own handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy for partner sites and apps.
Heart packs are one-time purchases processed by Google Play Billing on Android and by the App Store on iPhone. The game receives only a confirmation that a purchase succeeded, and grants the corresponding hearts. Refunds and payment disputes are handled by Google Play or Apple, not by the developer.
This game is intended for players aged 16 and over. It is not directed to children, is not enrolled in the Google Play Families programme, and is not designed for use by young children. If you believe a child has used the game on your device, resetting the advertising identifier in device settings and reinstalling the game clears the identifiers involved.
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated, and the current version will always be available at this address. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
Questions about this policy, or about data the game handles, can be sent to zeroerrorpermadeath@gmail.com.
